Before you decide who to trust with your immigration journey, let me tell you a little about what I do—and how we work.

My name is Nancy Awwad, and since 2014 I have been a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC), licensed and in good standing with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants.

I am a Canadian citizen, originally from Lebanon, fluent in English, French, and Arabic, with a practice based in Ottawa and working internationally, including from Dubai.

Now that you know who I am—here are 10 reasons why working with a licensed professional like me matters:

Never take anyone’s word for it. Always check your consultant directly through the official regulator. Transparency is not optional—it’s your protection.

2️⃣ You will receive a proper consultation agreement

Before we begin, you will receive a formal agreement. This is why we request identification and basic details—because we operate under strict professional standards.

3️⃣ We work on a retainer and bill professionally

Like lawyers, we work with retainers and bill based on actual work performed. Your funds are handled with accountability and structure—not guesswork.

4️⃣ We are regulated professionals

Most RCICs are based in Canada, and even when working internationally—as I currently do from Dubai—we remain fully regulated under Canadian law.

5️⃣ We do not work through agents without oversight

If you are referred by an agent, always verify directly with the RCIC. Your agreement must be with the consultant—not an intermediary.

6️⃣ Your agreement will be clear and verifiable

Every retainer includes:

• Full name and RCIC number

• Business address

• Scope of services
  👉 Always verify before making any payment.

7️⃣ Your money is protected

Your retainer is held in a client trust account (similar to escrow).
We only bill for work completed—and you receive invoices detailing every charge.

8️⃣ Unused funds are returned

Yes, refunds exist—but in reality, most clients require significant guidance.
The more prepared and responsive you are, the more efficient (and cost-effective) your process will be.

9️⃣ Strategy matters more than speed

Delays, poor preparation, or missing documents can cost you your opportunity.
